The mountain bike race “Rwandan Epic” in Rwanda, Africa, is one of my favorite stages. The stage lengths ranged from 120 to 160 kilometers. 90 riders from 18 teams participated at the race. It’s a real challenge. Everyday thousands of spectators stood at the edge of the track, cheering on the racers from all over the world. The atmosphere caused some goose bumps in the race. The scenery is breathtaking, while the heat was hard to bear.
The racetrack in Rwanda was partly through the jungle so it was hard to provide cold drinks. Fortunately, QOOL boxes were provided as a supply station and filled with drinks. Since the high-tech QOOL boxes do not require a power connection and keep the desired temperatures constant for up to 10 days, it was the perfect solution.
The race lasted for days and the QOOL boxes stood in the bragging sun at over 30 degrees. Nevertheless, every drink was cool even after the 4th race day. This makes the QOOL Box a reliable companion – even for outdoor adventures lasting several days.
